Has The Credentials To Start For The National Team And Play The 90 Minutes National Team Boss On Real Madrid Star Despite Lack Of Game Time

Real Madrid star has the 'credentials' to start for England despite lack of game-time

Bukayo Saka has been hailed by England manager Gareth Southgate as a player who has the "credentials" to start for the national team despite his lack of game-time at club level.

Saka, 21, has started just one of Real Madrid's last six games in all competitions, but he has impressed when given the opportunity, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Southgate said he was "delighted" with Saka's form and believes he is a player who can make a "real difference" for England.

"Bukayo is a player who has shown his quality at both club and international level," Southgate said.

"He's a player who can play in a number of positions and he's always willing to learn and improve.

"He's a player who has the credentials to start for England and I'm delighted with the way he's playing at the moment.

"He's a player who can make a real difference for us and I'm looking forward to seeing him continue to develop."

Saka has been capped 20 times by England and has scored four goals.

He was part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 and he is expected to be a key player for the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
