Brighton boss delighted with the mentality of his players.

De Zerbi has guided Brighton to three wins from four Premier League matches since taking over from Graham Potter in September.

The Italian was impressed with his team's performance in the 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday and says he is looking forward to the challenge of facing West Ham United on Tuesday.

“I am very happy with the mentality of my players,” said De Zerbi. “They are always fighting and they always want to win. This is a very important quality for a team and I am very proud of them.

“The win over Chelsea was a very good performance from us. We played with a lot of intensity and we created a lot of chances. We deserved to win and I am very happy with the three points.

“We are now looking forward to the game against West Ham United. They are a good team and they will be a tough opponent. But we are confident in our own ability and we will go there to win.”

De Zerbi also praised the performance of Leandro Trossard, who scored two goals against Chelsea. “Leandro is a very good player,” said De Zerbi. “He is very skilful and he has a good eye for goal. I am very happy with his performance and I hope he can continue to score goals for us.

“We are a new team and we are still learning. But I am very happy with the progress we have made so far. We are playing with a lot of confidence and we are winning games. I am excited to see what the future holds for us.”
